Story Competition 2020
Hi everybody.
It’s time for the St. Michael’s B.N.S. Annual Story Competition.
This time it’s a story competition with a difference.
You will be creating your story at home! It is open to all classes.

The rules are the same as always:

The story can be on any theme.

I am looking for good language and well-made sentences.

Your story should be interesting and entertaining.
I am looking for great imagination.
Your story must make sense.

It would help to plan out your story and to start out with lots of ideas.
Check out the you-tube videos I have sent before you write anything.

Include characters and setting.

Have a beginning, middle and end.

You could try to use describing words to tell more about the characters and the settings.
You could try to use dialogue , that is conversations or thoughts inside speech marks.

DO NOT include a lot of violence.
DO NOT include zombies or stories that are based on your play station or x box games!

Remember to use the correct tense – if you start in the past tense, keep it in the past tense.

At the end, read your story aloud and see if it makes sense.

Check your grammar and punctuation. Make sure you have Capital Letters at the beginning of sentences and full stops at the end.

Send your story by e-mail to your class teacher. The closing date is Thursday 7th May 2020.  Best of luck. Happy Writing!

Mrs. Sorohan
